Now, I have tried the MS Fixit's and the update diag to help correct the problem and they return resolved or fixed. Yet, when you try again to get the updates it still spins away, no result. Any test/diag comes back, OK or corrected any problems. The only thing that worked at least once was disabling the services using the 'msconfig' area. But, again after getting some updates and then installing them, it never d/l'ed again. I do have manual KB-updates and have installed them. But, even here it will only install 1-update and clicking on next KB# it will then stall/spin again awaiting with no result. It never errors and just sits there displaying the window getting no updates. I found rebooting helps to get the next KB# installed unless it was already installed or not needed, but even after that window is posted it just won't install another KB# unless I reboot. It claims to be downloading but no matter how long I leave it, it just sits at 0%. On the 64 bit system the same applies but also, if I start Windows Update from the start menu and click check for updates, it claims to be checking for updates but never completes. I left it running two DAYS one time and it got nowhere. The only way I manage to get the updates is to change the update setting to 'Download updates but let me choose when to install them' on all systems and then a couple of days after 'Patch Tuesday' they will pop up a notification that new updates are ready to install. From there, I uncheck the ones I don't want and then click install and the updates proceed normally. Does this make any sense?
